Clearwater has developed extensive policies and procedures to protect your information and comply, as applicable, with privacy regulations, such as HIPAA. Every Clearwater employee and contractor must sign confidentiality agreements and follow Clearwater’s privacy and information security policies. At Clearwater, we regularly communicate with our employees and contractors about our obligation to safeguard confidential and personal information. Clearwater employs security best practices to protect your data. This includes the use of security encryption technologies for data in transit and at rest. We conduct regular internal and external security testing and we regularly track and apply security updates. Clearwater’s products, services and websites are not intended for use by, or marketed to, children under 18.
Website and Registration Information Collected
When you request information from Clearwater or register on Clearwater’s web sites, we ask you to provide basic information such as your name, address, or e-mail address. When you purchase Clearwater’s products or services, we will ask you to provide additional billing information. Clearwater uses common Internet technologies, such as cookies, to keep track of interactions with our products, services, web sites and emails.
Use of Information
Clearwater uses information collected from or about you to: (i) communicate with you; (ii) provide you with the products and services you request; (iii) process your payment; (iv) improve our web sites, products and services; (v) provide you with additional information about our products, services, partners, promotions and events; and, (vi) provide support services to you. Clearwater also creates anonymous, statistical data from the information it gathers from you or about you regarding your use of Clearwater’s products, services and websites. Clearwater may share anonymous data, such as cookies, with third party applications to provide targeted advertising or to track statistics about the use of our websites, products or services. Clearwater does not share, sell, rent, or trade personally identifiable information with third parties for their promotional purposes. Clearwater may also share information collected from you or about you as required by law, to a prospective third party purchaser of all or part of Clearwater’s business, and with contractors and companies that work on Clearwater’s behalf.
Personal Health Information
When you use MODICA or the ShoeBOX Audiometry Program, we may receive personal health information (PHI) from your use of these services. Any PHI collected by MODICA or the ShoeBOX Audiometry Program will be managed in accordance with HIPAA standards. The MODICA Terms of Service and the ShoeBOX Audiometry Program License Agreement include confidentiality provisions that prohibit us from disclosing your confidential information or PHI except under certain narrowly defined circumstances, such as to provide the services and when required by law. Clearwater agrees to use PHI only in accordance with the terms of these agreements.
